Maldives Airline is preparing to start Seaplane services between Addu City and Huvadhoo Atoll.
Speaking to “AdduLive” the Managing Director Gais Naseer of AIA which operates of Gan International Airport said that the Seaplane services are scheduled to commence on November. Gan International Airport’s seaplane terminal is to be used for this operation.
Due to this, the seaplane terminal is to be renovated to accommodate the operations.
In his interview, Gais also states that this operation will have a big impact on tourism in Huvadhoo Atoll. Gais noted that the tourists transportation to resorts is to be taken care of by Maldivian.
With the start of the seaplane services, tourists can be offered easier trips to resorts from Gan using seaplanes. This is something which the resorts in Huvadhoo Atoll would benefit greatly from.
